Last Week: --------------------------- Nothing should surprise Bills fans after last week's loss. Nursing a 3 point lead with 2:05 left in the game and Marshawn Lynch running all over the Jets, HC Dick Jauron decided to try his hand at being OC. The genius called for a rollout by turnover machine JP Losman who predictably fumbled away the game. Oh, and note that the DE who caused the fumble blew around the Bills' lone Pro Bowl 'honoree', Jason Peters.
This Week: --------------------------- The Bills travel to Denver on Sunday and will face one of the league's worst defenses. Normally I'd suggest playing most of your Bills, but who wants to take that risk in week 16?
Rumors: ---------------------------
Injuries: --------------------------- Injuries:
Greer O
Schobel - O
Royal Q
Whitner - Q
Lynch - P
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS:
Thankfully, we may have seen the last of JP Losman in a Bills uniform as it looks like Trent Edwards will start this week. It's gotten so bad for JP that he's been demoted to #3 QB.
The Brocos have a horrible D, but Edwards may be too rusty to take advantage. If you are desperate for a QB I'd suggest looking at Hill, Wallace or Orlovsky.
200 1 TD 1 INTs
RUNNING BACKS:
Lynch was very impressive last week against a stout Jets run D. Too bad Jauron didn't let him close out the game. Denver is horrible against the run making Lynch a must start this week.
125 yds 1 TD
WIDE RECEIVERS:
Lee Evans is killing any owners still using him. He catches a break with Edwards expected back, however Champ Bailey may return for the Broncos. The Broncos are so bad I'd suggest using Evans as a WR3 or flex, but only if Bailey sits.
70 yds 1 TD (you'd think he's just gotta score once more this year, right?)
TIGHT ENDS:
Will the Bills ever draft a real TE? And if they did, would they know how to use him?
20 yds
PLACE KICKER:
Lindell has a good shot at a nice points day this week. Again, only because the Denver D is that bad.
2XP, 2FG
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS:
Injuries in the secondary will cost the Bills any chance in this game. At least McKelvin has filled in nicely on the return team.
Game Broncos 28 - 20

Miami Dolphins

Last Week: --------------------------- The Chiefs gave the Dolphins a hard time in the freezing cold last Sunday but the offense came alive when it mattered and pulled out a 38-31 victory to remain tied with New England for first place in the AFC East. Kansas City sure didn't look like a 2-13 team.
This Week: --------------------------- Well lo and behold, who knew after Brett Favre got the best of the man he replaced way back on September 7 that the next time the two would meet, the division crown would be on the line for Miami. Well, it is and the big question: will Chad Pennington do to Favre what he did to him six years ago, knocking the Dolphins out of the playoffs and bumping the Packers to third seed in the NFC and a first-round exit? After that game, the New York media was preparing for Pennington's induction to the Hall of Fame. This week....
Rumors: --------------------------- If the Jets lose, Mangini could be fired and look for Dave Wannstedt to be on the short list. If Wade Phillips gets fired by the Cowboys, look for Nick Satan to be on the short list.
Injuries: --------------------------- Nothing yet
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS: Look for at least 300 yards and 2 TD from Pennington and possibly an interception.
RUNNING BACKS: The wildcat will be out of the cage a lot.
WIDE RECEIVERS: Take a shot with Ginn and David Martin.
TIGHT ENDS: Fasano could have at least 1 TD.
PLACE KICKER: Dan Carpenter will have at least four chances.
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: Look for at least two turnovers and on special teams and a few big kick returns.
Merry Christmas everyone and for a few laughs, check out www.ryanparkersongs.com. There's a parody of Pennington Is Coming To Town.
Some good anniversaries as always at this time of year:
12/24/72 - The Dolphins score with just under three minutes left to beat the Browns 20-14 to keep their undefeated season alive.
12/23/73 - The Dolphins have no trouble against Cincinnati in the first round of the playoffs, beating them 34-16.
12/24/00 - The Dolphins beat the Pats, 27-24 to win the AFC East. During Dave Wannstedt's post game speech to the team, the refs told them they had to come back on the field because replay ruled in favor of New England on the last play. Some players came out in towels and flip-flops as the last play was an incomplete pass.
12/25/71 - Miami beats KC 27-24 in double overtime on a field goal by Garo Yepremian to advance to the AFC Championship.

New England Patriots

Last Week: --------------------------- Wow, what a performance. That said it looked like Arizona didn't even show up to play. I hope you used you Pats players last week, as many of them had huge games. If you were smart and played them chances are you won your pool. Congrats!
This Week: --------------------------- The playoff picture will be painted this week. The Pats will be eliminated from playoff contention if they lose to The Bills this week. And if they win and finish at 11-5, theyll make the playoffs only if Miami loses to the New York Jets or Baltimore loses to Jacksonville. A huge week indeed.
Rumors: --------------------------- There is still no definitive word if Brady will be back for the start of next season. Carson Palmer suffered the exact same injury at the end of the season a few years back and was back at the start of the next season and had a great year. I expect Brady to be back in top form at the start of the 09 season. There is no way The Pats will let Brady go in favour of Cassel.
Injuries: --------------------------- T. Bruschi LB Out Knee
G. Guyton LB Questionable Ankle
E. Hobbs CB Questionable Shoulder
M. LeVoir T Questionable Ankle
M. Light T Questionable Shoulder
V. Redd LB Questionable Ankle
J. Sanders S Doubtful Abdomen
L. Sanders CB Questionable Shoulder
R. Ventrone S Questionable Ankle
T. Warren DT Questionable Groin
K. Washington WR Questionable Thigh
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS:
Matt Cassel has proven he can play in the NFL. It remains to be seen if he will be back with The Pats next year. Lots of it will be determined on Brady's health and if he will be ready for the start of the season. I expect Brady will be back next year and The Pats will not want to franchise Cassel as they will have to pay him huge money to back Brady up. BR>
RUNNING BACKS:
Lo Mo will be back next year. We will have to keep an eye on what happens with Lamont, Morris, Green Ellis and Faulk. If The Pats continue to use a running back by committee next year you will have to wait later on in the draft to take a Pat RB. I expect Maroney to be the number one back next season.BR>
WIDE RECEIVERS:
Moss and Brady will be back together again next year. Moss will be the top WR in the NFL again next year. Welker will also up his touch down total and become a great fantasy option.
TIGHT ENDS:
With Brady back next year, Big Ben Watson will once again be considered for your fantasy line up.
PLACE KICKER:
Steve is solid! Next year he will continue to grow and be a top tier fantasy kicker.
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS:
Lets see what The Pats do in free agency and the draft to improve their defence. They need to get younger at D.
Have a great off season and thank you again for taking the time to read my reports. See you on the cyber field next year.

New York Jets
By: Neil Berman Updated: 12/25/2008

Last Week: --------------------------- The Jets play was pathetic again as the Jets AFC East championship hopes were basically destroyed in a 13-3 loss in Seattle. Terrible coaching decisions by Eric Mangini coupled with continued subpar play from Brett Favre has this team in a horrible position. With the loss, the Jets are in 3rd in the AFC East at 9-6 and must hope for a New England or Baltimore loss if they want their game against Miami to mean anything for them.
This Week: --------------------------- The Jets finish the regular season with a late afternoon home game against the Miami Dolphins at the Meadowlands. The Jets beat the Dolphins in Miami in Week 1, but the Dolphins are the most improved team in the NFL in 2008 and will be playing for the AFC East title. I predict the Jets to finally play a great game and beat the Dolphins 27-23.
Rumors: --------------------------- There is a chance that Sunday could be the final game of Brett Favre's career.
Injuries: --------------------------- WR Coles has a thigh injury. This has been the case all year. Expect Coles to play as he is a warrior.
Position Analysis: --------------------------- QUARTERBACKS:
Favre played terrible again against Seattle. He has been brutal over the past month. Against the Seahawks, Favre was 18 of 31 for 187 yards with 0 TD and 2 INT's. I think Favre will bounce back with a great final game this Sunday. I predict 225 yards with 2 TD's and 1 pick.
RUNNING BACKS:
Thomas Jones has become the workhorse. They will need to feed him even more this Sunday. He carried the ball 17 times for 67 yards against in Seattle. Expect 110 yards against the Dolphins with a TD. Leon Washington carried the ball only 3 times against Seattle for 14 yards. I expect a much better game for him against the Dolphins.
WIDE RECEIVERS:
The Jets WR cast had yet another bad statistical afternoon against Seattle. Coles snared 5 balls for 60 yards. I think he will have 85 yards against the Dolphins with a TD. Jerricho Cotchery had 6 catches for 81 yards. He will have over 80 yards receiving.
TIGHT ENDS:
Dustin Keller caught 1 balls for 2 yards against the Seahawks.
PLACE KICKER:
Jay Feely was 1 of 1 on FG's. He should have been given an opportunity to kick another one.
DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Jets defense didn't get the job done again on Sunday against the Seahawks.
